How to up-charge an order

Usually an up-charge is needed when a customer has custom notes on an order that requires additional charge. Unfortunately, this feature is not commonly available in direct ordering solutions like Rushable, but we understand things happen and there is a need for it, so our product team is working diligently to make it happen.

Meanwhile, here are two of the best practices our clients have been doing to minimize the chance of needing to up-charge:

  • Add thorough modifier options with set prices.

  • Turn off the custom notes feature so that customers aren't allowed to leave any notes with special requests.

Alternatively, since you have access to all customers' contact information, you can always give them a call to communicate about the additional charge, and provide the option to have them pay in-person when they pick up the order.
